KILL
You're selling shovels to distributors who are already broke from the last shovel — and your shovel is a free portfolio PDF anyone with a Google Sheet can print.
A lead-generation tool for mutual fund distributors/advisors that attracts prospects by offering a 'comprehensive analysis' of their current portfolio holdings; founder is a 5-year retail investor with good personal returns.
The reasoning
Why it dies
The lead magnet IS the entire business, and it's a commodity: portfolio X-rays are a free feature bundled into every advisory app, broker platform, and Value Research clone on the planet. Distributors don't have a leads problem you can uniquely fix — they have a trust and distribution problem, and a strangers' 'comprehensive analysis' of a prospect's holdings is exactly the thing that gets you ghosted, not converted. Meanwhile you're monetizing the cheapest, most fee-squeezed buyers in finance — small distributors who won't pay for tools when their own AMCs hand them lead pipes for free. And 'I got great returns for myself' is a track record for a portfolio, not a signal you can build a two-sided lead engine, source at scale, or sell B2B software to skeptical advisors.
What would save it
Kill the generic 'analysis' framing and prove one thing: that you can reliably deliver qualified, high-net-worth investors who actually book calls and convert, for a specific niche of distributor (say, fee-only advisors chasing rollovers) at a CAC they'll happily pay a revenue share on. If you can't show a repeatable channel that produces closed AUM — not PDFs — there's no company here, just a report generator.
